Basse - 13 km from Giethoorn 14 minutes by car

Basse is located 13 km from Giethoorn and is surrounded by tranquil landscape and beautiful views. Nature lovers will find sand, loam, water, marsh, peat and heather here. There are plenty of cycling and walking routes and Giethoorn is 14 minutes away by car. The town of Basse is one of the smaller places in the municipality of Steenwijkerland. Basse is located between Oldemarkt and Steenwijkerwold; near Paasloo.

Although Basse is small but nice, it has an active neighborhood association: 'Het Buurthuus'. No activity is too crazy and so neighborhood parties are organized; complete with fairground rides, and races take place. The Basse TT attracts more than a thousand visitors every year. Classic racing bikes, sometimes even with a sidecar, held a demo race in the Basser meadows.
