The real enjoyment in De Bult and Eesveen is not to be missed! Small hills, forests, nature, history, a hunting lodge, tea house and a raised bog. At the top of the watchtower you can look out over the eight burial mounds, De Woldberg forest area and in clear weather even much further. Zwolle, Emmeloord, Diever and even the Abe Lenstra Stadium in Heerenveen. The pleasant Eesvee (eight hundred inhabitants) lies almost against the Drenthe provincial border, making it the most easterly place within the municipality of Steenwijkerland. It is mainly the natural environment that attracts visitors to Eesveen. Weerribben-Wieden National Park in collaboration, with its woodland, heathland, farmland and wetland areas, is ideal for hiking and cycling. Eesveen borders a huge forest of 1,000 hectares, De Eese. For shopping, the inhabitants and visitors of the village have to rely on the places Vledder and Steenwijk, which are only five kilometers away.
